What is the difference between Life Coaching and Therapy?
Life Coaching focuses on the present and the future. Therapy is typically about understanding and grieving the past so you can let it go. Although there may be some overlap between coaching and therapy, key questions in therapy are often What happened? How did you feel/think about what happened? and Why do you do what you do? In coaching, guiding questions would be along the lines of Where are you now? What would you like to create in your life? and What will you do?
Coaches are not licensed to diagnose or treat psychological illness. Coaching is geared to exploring what is and what can be, and this process often include investigating a client’s senses, values, actions, perceptions, feelings, and insights leading to life-enhancing actions, accountability and learning.
If are energized at the thought of moving forward with your life and are looking for a safe, fun and supportive place to get clear and kick it into gear, coaching will likely be a life-altering connection for you.
